Opportunism or Creativity?

There are rumors that Khalida Jarrar, the PFLP representative in the Palestinian Legislative Council, will be given the "Women's Ministry" in the Hamas government. Fascinating. A left-wing Marxist will represent women in an Islamist-led government. Before I say anything, I'll wait for confirmation of the news. As to Khawla al Shakhsheer for the ministery of education, it makes sense. Al Shakhsheer was my neighbour for many years and she was no feminist or liberal when it came to her views on women or education. To think that we went from Hanan Ashrawi as a minister of education to Khawla al Shakhsheer says it all.
