Ahlan Ezzayak

Those interested in Arab pop culture's representations of the US (actually US foreign policy team) may find this video clip by the Kuwaiti singer Shams of interest. The refrain is "Hi, how r ya? No one is like you...I now figured you out, and don't want to see u again..." (thanks Rabee and NG)

is she saying khaltee wa khaltak itfarqo? whats that about (am i reading to much into this? too much critical analysis, lol) anyway i must say that of all the trashy video 'cleeps' out there this really does tackle alot of stuff in a kinda weird way....but hey, it got my attention! (but by all means much preferred than boos il wawa)

Handala became the signature of Naji al-Ali's cartoons and remains an iconic symbol of Palestinian identity and defiance, Her and her producers have no business finishing there trash with him

Falasteeneyeh,

Yes, she's saying that and I have no idea what it means. Maybe something like we are no longer friends?

AT,

I too thought Hanthala didn't belong in this clip. But I guess because it's a recognized symbol of political satire, they wanted to use it to give the clip some radical chicness.

khalti wa khaltak itfarraqu....

My aunt and your aunt quarrelled = the women who one might expect to help arrange a marriage are no longer speaking to one another, because the two lovers are no longer on speaking terms.
